The Mission board meets each month to track the progress we are making on number of larger strategic issues that are facing TRM. We met this morning to cover several issues. First was to give the board an update on the financial status of the Mission. Our report: Things are great. Our giving has exceeded our expectations and we are able to replenish our reserve funds for the summer months when we don’t have the funds to cover our expenses. Secondly, we updated the board on our negotiations with Sound Transit, who has voted to extend their Sounder train to Lakewood and picked a route which will go directly behind the Mission. This is a subject which will be around for a few years but we are thinking of how this will affect our services already. Lastly we got an update from our architect on the new Adams Square Family Center, exciting stuff. Thanks to the board for their help and direction. DC

I always look forward to Board Meetings. Dave and the staff are so professional and the food is outstanding! Anna is the best executive secretary around..God is really good to all of us and especially to those who agree to do His work. He is Raining Down Blessings on the Mission. I think we have to be careful to continue to praise Him, because as it says on the mural in the Good Neighbor Dining Room (The Power of Satan)…is a real threat to us and he would like to see us tear one another apart with rumors and mistrust and little snipings.
That is how he works to let us destroy ourselves, But we have the Power of Jesus Christ and the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against us!!
Holy Spirit Rain Down, rain down, rain down.
Keep encouraging one another, be totally open and professional.
I love you all….
Do you think you can give us an overview (as detailed as you like) of Adam’s Square and the plans for what you plan to offer with it. How will it be an improvement from what the family shelter offers?
Morgan, thanks for asking about the new project. I hope to blog on this next week. I am trying to figure out how to post a new computerated video of the proposed building.
Tune in later.
